KTVA11: Teens behind Quarantine Academy encourage Alaskans to connect

It started as a way to connect their community, but a pair of students from Washington, D.C. soon found themselves running a global classroom called Quarantine Academy. They’re inviting Alaskans to host their own sessions too.

High schooler Adam Sherinian said the idea for an online Zoom school was hatched with his parents at their kitchen table back in March. 

“Schools were canceled and we were looking for something to do, and this idea sort of came about, ‘how can we help people, how can we re-establish some semblance of normalcy for these people?” said Sherinian.
